What I enjoy about playing music for people
Last week, I had the pleasure to play live Christmas Music for a resident facility. They had a holiday party for the residents and their families that day and it was a feast! I got there and quickly set up to play some of my favorite Christmas songs. The audience was awesome. They sang along; they clapped after their favorite songs; they requested what they want to hear too! I think I played Jingle Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Silent Night more than many other songs, but it was just so much fun to see those smiley faces! After playing almost 2 hours in the different part of the facility, I packed up my violin and left. My day was brightened by the happy faces who enjoyed my music.
That evening, I performed at the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra in the annual Christmas concert. We had a sold out concert and it was so much fun being part of an innovative group. There was a child being invited to the stage to conduct our favorite Sleigh Ride, and even Santa came to join us. Of course it was so much fun to create music with the audiences. The entire hall was ringing with vibrations. It’s those moments that made me have goose bumps and be so happy that I perform music for people.
